Thank you for your interest in studying with us! all study details are below.

what to expect:

This summer, we're tackling the New Testament book of Mark! During our eight weeks together, you can expect to be edified and challenged in the study of God's Word with women in all stages of their journey with God. In the weeks to come, you'll have access to a detailed syllabus outlining the weekly readings and homework (look out for these resources in your email mid-May). You'll also be assigned to a small group and connected with your leader after registration closes.

At each session, we will spend the first half of our time meeting in discussion groups to talk about what we've learned in the text. After a short break, we will spend the second half of our time listening to a lecture from one of our DWITW teachers (Kaitlyn Carl and Heidi Lenzo). Before you head out, your teacher will go over the homework assigned for the following week. You’ll be trained on a specific Bible study tool and be asked to practice it during your study time at home.

During the study, you’ll have access to a resource page full of helpful links. You'll also receive a weekly email that includes audio recordings from both sessions, homework details, kids lessons and other relevant resources.

There is no cost to participate in the study. It is always our goal to offer our studies free of charge to ensure that as many women as possible can participate. While there is no cost for individual participants, our non-profit ministry does incur costs for the study overall. If you would like to donate toward our expenses, you can do so online or in person at each session with cash or check. Our largest expense is paying the kids workers each week who are not volunteers. We pay about $150-$220 to our group of workers weekly, putting the total childcare costs for the Mark study between $1200-$1760. If we max out childcare again this year, that comes out to about $25 per child for our eight-week study.

joining us from home?

If you’d like to study the book of Mark with us this summer, but aren’t able to make it to our in-person sessions, we welcome you to join us from home! To receive the study materials, weekly emails and access to all the Mark resources, please register below and choose the “I’ll be following along on my own” or “I’ll be leading a group on my own” option. If you’re leading a small group, please encourage them to register here as well or plan to forward the resources along to them. DWITW KIDS classes:

Kids classes are available for children ages 0-12 at our Wednesday morning session. We are not providing Monday evening kids classes at this time.

AVAILABLE CLASSES THIS YEAR: Infants (0-12m), 1 year olds, 2 year olds, 3 year olds, 4 year olds, 5-6 year olds, 7-12 year olds.
As classes fill up, kids will go onto a waitlist. We are only limited by number of volunteers, so don’t despair- we try our best to get everyone off of the waitlist! Please register your child even if their age group is waitlisted. You will receive a specific email if one of your children is placed on the waitlist.

**UPDATED WAITLIST INFORMATION:
All classes are currently on a waitlist.

CHANGES FOR 2019: All kids (excluding infants 0-12 months and 1 year olds), will be dropped off and picked up in the Fellowship Hall at Keystone Church. Their teachers will take them to their individual classrooms for their lesson and then bring them back to the Fellowship Hall for pick up. We suggest that parents/caregivers park by the Fellowship Hall entrance. Infants 0-12 months and 1 year olds can be taken directly to their classrooms and are advised to park near the Sanctuary entrance.

Like last year, our goal is for each class of children to have a consistent, dedicated teacher. All children will have play time, snack time and an age-appropriate Bible lesson from the book of Mark. If you would like to volunteer to be a kids teacher, please visit our Volunteer Registration page.  If you are volunteering on Wednesday and studying on Monday, be sure to register on both pages.

—If you have more than four children to register, please email us at daytonwomenintheword@gmail.com.—

All childcare workers must be 13 and older, and each classroom will have at least one adult over 18. If you or someone you know would like to serve as a childcare worker, please visit our Volunteer Registration page for more information.

If your child has food allergies or special needs we should be aware of, please let us know below when you register them. Please label any personal items that your child brings to class with a first and last name.

If you are bringing kids to study, drop off is from 9:15AM-9:30AM.
Please respect our volunteers and drop off your children promptly!

What to bring:

Please come prepared for study with your Bible, Mark print-out*, name tag (provided at first session), writing utensil and paper for note-taking.

*If you've studied with us before, you know that we prefer working with a printed version of the text to facilitate note-taking. Your registration provides you with a PDF version of Mark and the syllabus, to be delivered via email before the study begins. We highly encourage you to print out the PDF (or send to a print shop) and add it to a three-ring binder. We will be using this copy during our time together at each session.
