These foundational Christian beliefs are agreed upon by the leadership team and teachers of Dayton Women in the Word. We do not require that anyone outside leadership adhere to these specific beliefs.

We believe in one triune God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the creator and ruler of the world, perfect, immortal and eternal.

We believe the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired, innerant Word of God and the supreme authority on all things it speaks on.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God the Father, fully God and fully man, born of a virgin.

We believe that the death of Christ made atonement for all the sins of the world with his perfect, sinless life, and that only those who believe in Him will receive eternal life.

We believe in Jesus’ bodily resurrection and ascension, which assures a future resurrection for all believers. Romans 6:4-5

We believe in the visible and bodily return of Christ to judge the world and reign as King of Kings. Revelation 22:12-14

We believe that man was created originally in the image of God, and then fell into sin through Satan’s temptation. Through Adam, all mankind has fallen into sin. We have separated ourselves from God and deserve the rightful penalty of death.

We believe that salvation from our rightful punishment of death comes only by a personal belief that Christ took our sins upon himself at the cross and paid our debt to God with his perfect life and subsitutionary death.

We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within each believer who confesses Jesus as Lord. We believe the Holy Spirit is responsible for our ongoing sanctification and understanding of God’s truths revealed in scripture.

We believe the church is the body of Christ and Jesus is the head. We believe individual Christians should come under the authority of a local church. We believe in the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper and baptism by immersion, and that they should be observed in the context of the local church. Colossians 1:18; Acts 3:42-47; Luke 22:14-23; Matthew 28:19

We believe that we are called to be in the world but not of the world. We have been commissioned by God to know and obey his Word and make disciples of all nations.
